'Prior to joining UKAS I worked for over 20 years with a global premier chemical and manufacturing organisation supplying food grade products to major multi-national customers. I joined UKAS as the opportunity was given to join an organisation whose main objective was improving the standard of certification in the UK. Having previously implemented and maintained a QHSE Management System, and experiencing both value-adding and non-value-adding certification audits, I felt that I had a good perspective of what was required by a CB’s client (although not necessarily what they always wanted!) and the opportunity to support improvements in the delivery of accredited certification was a natural step for me to take.'

'My career started as a Biomedical Scientist in the NHS then Associate Quality Manager and more recently as Area Laboratory Quality Manager responsible for Quality Management NHS Ayrshire and Arran Area Laboratories.'
